What about personal responsiblity?

I was listening to the radio this morning as they were discussing making potential changes in regulations and laws for mortgages. It got me thinking, do we really need more regulation or is it that we need more responsiblity?

I have no doubt there were indeed predatory lenders that operated and helped feed this mortgage crisis. But does the buck stop there? What of our own personal responsiblity to read what we sign and ask questions if we dont understand?

Should we have stopped companies from offering adjustable rates? I really dont think so. Our country is based on principals of capitalism and the free market model.

I honestly think a lot of the crisis was based on our society's culture of wanting more and more and more. Im guilty of that myself at times. Wanting somthing right now and reaching to put it on credit when I really should want for cash in hand.

Hmm some pondering thoughts this morning, i guess.

Long time no blogging lol

Its not always easy to find the time to blog... I can think of lots of things to blog about or want to write about. Its the time factor that sucks me away to other things and pursuits.

I have been trying to find ways to get more organized and more scheduled. Yeah dont fall over, I know, not my strong suit. Its a necessary evil with such a large family especially. Im working menu planning and various charts and schedules for things like tooth brushing and showers and baths. Other simple things like, we change all the bedsheets on fridays. Adding in an late night chore time, so that we start with a clean house in the morning.

Ive also been madly working on catching up on laundry. Lets just say I was very very very far behind and its taken some effort to even get to this point. Im at least 35 loads in and still not finished. Im beginning to think I have special magic hampers -- you know the kind that multiples continuously without end. Once the laundry is all caught up, I will take count of how many pants and shirts each child has. Im trying to determine if we have too many clothes or just the right amount or whatever.

Im also trying to be more diligent bout making sure the kids get into pajamas at night. This in turn(in theory anyway), helps with less fights bout changing clothes in the morning.

I havent worked on my schedule for the school year, Id like to get a loose structured schedule for our day. I will only have 3 home for half days this summer. Ezekiel will start morning kidnergarten this fall. For some reason this makes me more sad than excited. My strong superhero man is going to school ... waahhhh! Part of it is, that Zemirah and Ezekiel have been best buds and do everything together. So its hard to imagine them apart. Part of it, I think is its the last half of my kids and that just seems sad to be starting. Zemirah goes next year too.

I will have two high schoolers(I already forbad them to get any older), 2 middle schoolers and 3 elementary kids this year.

Well thats all for now folks!
